An individual or a company would want to own a newspaper for the money purpose or so they could inform the world or country about current affairs. There are many other reasons why but the main would be for financial reasons.

They make sure the show is shown at the right time and they dont be confused with actual channels like ITV or Channel 4. These are really important and they put themselves in the credit to promote their company. BBC dont rely on advertising since they rely on the government.

Soaps are not usually in radios than they used to be, they are now on the internet for catch up shows an watching the shows again. Evereyone has more access to internet and evereyone has internet and they tend to watch online than listen to the radio. They get to have more of a variety on the internet such as visually imporving; they could see the actors and the propts and lighting i.e. mises - en - scene.In the early 1990's it would be harder to keep up in television because they didn't have advances in technology like they do today with 4demand and itv player. However radio's do talk about the soap and do promote as much as they can so in that repect they still do keep up in soap. However the channels have spin off shows which can be caught up on the internet such as E20 which is aimed at younger audience. Internet and radio use each other well as they are on at different times and they can promote each other at any time. Plus internet is world wide anyone can have access to it

Also in Britain can watch shown from other parts of the worlds such as australian soaps which is shown on the channel 5. Howether it shows a later date like eastender being broadcasted in America. Hoether with TV you can record it and watch the shows whever you want.

In soaps a public service what provide the publicrun service. For example the BBC is a public service since its provided by the goverment and funded by the grand and this is also recive from the internation bilateral donnors. This is so that anyone can use BBC from all over the place. The BBC has 3 main purpose and that is to inform, educate and entertain. If any of these purposes are broken then they are not doing their job .Comparing to channel 4 , they have different purpose because they are not a public service

Private company is a company to make a profit like through promotion. Virgin would be an example of a private company. They also make money thorugh the HD channels they own. They provide their own funding. Its core business areas are travel, entertainment and lifestyle and it consists of more than 400 companies worldwide.Sir Richard Brandson owns the company and he owns all the advertising to do with the business.

ITV was an example of a indepant company since they have right to conduct the company of independent broadcasting authority which is to put the audience needs thirst.

In this aspect its when a sevice is provided is more than one countries. This can be serivce provider and networks such as CNN, SKY New, ABC and many more providers and in the UK. Advantage of this is that i that they can get an increase from the audience in other countires. which will increase viewership and budget in their company.
